Philip Morris India is hiring for Decision Scientist.

The Decision Scientist is a hands-on professional responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytics, machine learning, and GenAI-driven solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across business functions.

The role combines solid technical expertise in traditional AI/ML modeling with emerging capabilities in GenAI and agentic AI systems, while also playing a critical role in shaping solutions through structured problem definition, stakeholder engagement, and delivery management. The position acts as a bridge between business and technology, translating business needs into scalable AI solutions, leading the execution of AI initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact use cases across analytics, decision science, GenAI, and agentic automation.

Responsibilities Include :

1. Design, develop and deploy machine learning solutions across forecasting, segmentation, pricing and decision support use cases, ensuring outputs are scalable and aligned to business needs.

2. Build and operationalize GenAI and agentic AI solutions using LLMs, prompt engineering and orchestration frameworks to enable copilots, decision agents and automation workflows.

3. Develop end-to-end AI pipelines from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring, ensuring scalability and production readiness.

4. Leverage AWS ecosystem (including SageMaker and Bedrock)



to design, train, deploy and manage ML and GenAI solutions at scale. Continuously evaluate model performance, monitor drift, and refine models and prompts to ensure sustained accuracy, relevance, and reliability.

5. Act as a functional and business translator for AI initiatives, engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements, define use cases and user journeys and ensure solutions are aligned with business workflows. Translate business problems into structured analytical and AI solution frameworks by clearly defining objectives, hypotheses, data requirements and success metrics.

6. Own end-to-end delivery of AI/ML and GenAI use cases including planning timelines, managing dependencies, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring timely and high-quality execution.

7. Lead and mentor 12 analysts/engineers, ensuring quality of outputs, capability building and adherence to best practices in AI/ML and software development.

Educational Requirement - Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Work Experience

- 6 to 10 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI engineering roles with hands-on model development and deployment experience.
- Experience working on both traditional ML solutions and emerging GenAI use cases is strongly preferred.
