Job Description: Technical Lead .NET Azure Systems
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to drive the development, architecture, and deployment of our high-throughput, microservices-driven travel platform. In this role, you will spend roughly 70% of your time in active, hands-on engineering (coding, architectural design, cloud provisioning) and 30% guiding code quality, conducting technical code reviews, and mentoring an agile squad of 5-6 developers.
This role requires a practitioner who owns solutions end-to-end, actively participating in system design whiteboarding sessions, implementing advanced distributed security models, and engineering high-availability cloud-native configurations on Azure.
Technical Stack Blueprint
- Backend & Core Runtime: .NET 8 / 6 Core, C#, Advanced Asynchronous Frameworks, CLR Internals, ThreadPool Management.
- Distributed Architecture: Saga Pattern, CQRS, Transactional Outbox Pattern, Event-Driven Architecture.
- Security & Identity: Azure AD B2C, OAuth 2.0 / OIDC protocols, App Registrations, JWT Claims Validation, Gateway Policy Routing.
- Cloud Ingress & Topologies: Azure API Management (APIM), Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), VNet/Private Endpoint integration.
- Messaging & Telemetry: Azure Service Bus (Topics/Queues), Azure Event Hubs, Azure Application Insights, OpenTelemetry.
- Data & Performance: SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage, Redis, EF Core (tracking vs. non-tracking), Dapper.
- Testing & Delivery: xUnit, Moq, Postman, JMeter, Azure DevOps Pipelines (CI/CD).
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Whiteboarding: Design, document, and map out scalable end-to-end distributed system topologies, detailing network zones, ingress gateways, and service-to-service communication layers.
- Identity & Access Governance: Implement secure authentication and authorization layers using Azure AD B2C and Azure APIM policies, handling application registrations, managing cryptographic tokens, and enforcing claims-based security at the API tier.
- Distributed Microservices Management: Architect fault-tolerant, loosely-coupled backend microservices, leveraging Azure Service Bus for messaging and implementing reliable distributed data patterns to guarantee consistency during downstream network disruptions.
- High-Volume Data Ingestion & Storage: Build pipelines utilizing Azure Event Hubs to handle large transaction spikes, segregating active operational records into low-latency paths (Cosmos DB) and archiving analytical histories into structured storage (Blob Storage).
- Performance Optimization & Profiling: Optimize multi-threaded applications by eliminating synchronous blocking anti-patterns, profiling framework memory paths,
and managing resource usage within long-running BackgroundService loops.
- Production Telemetry & Outage Triage: Troubleshoot and isolate severe system degradations using distributed tracing, trace dependencies, and telemetry correlation markers inside Azure Application Insights.
- Container Integration & Deployment Pipelines: Own application packaging, workplace definitions, and delivery code directly inside Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) through automated Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Candidate Evaluation Criteria
- Hands-on Technical Leadership: Must have a proven track record of writing production code, building enterprise software architectures, and validating code quality through active technical pull request reviews.
- Ecosystem & Security Architecture: Extensive experience configuring API Gateways, directory tenants, and managing different authorization pathways tailored to distinct public client types and private server daemons.
- System Reliability Engineering: Proven experience deploying service-mesh resiliency frameworks (such as circuit breakers, retries with exponential backoff, and consumer-side data idempotency validation).
- Data Tier Engineering: Competence in evaluating database execution pathways, designing index strategies, and establishing data invalidation cycles across multi-tier caching architectures (Redis).
