Business Head Circular Materials & Resource Recovery - Construction & Demolition (C&D;) Waste

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced business leader to head a large-scale resource recovery and circular materials business focused on converting construction and infrastructure waste into sustainable building products.

This is a strategic leadership role with complete responsibility for business growth, profitability, operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and commercial development. The successful candidate will drive the expansion of recycling operations while building a sustainable and profitable circular economy platform.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & P&L;

- Lead the overall business with full P&L; accountability, driving revenue growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
- Develop business strategies focused on expansion, productivity, cost optimization, and sustainable growth.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics across multiple processing facilities.

Government & Institutional Partnerships

- Build and manage relationships with government departments, municipal authorities, infrastructure agencies, and other institutional stakeholders.
- Support business development through long-term partnerships, commercial agreements, and strategic collaborations.
- Work closely with regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution and business expansion.

Operations & Manufacturing Excellence

- Oversee end-to-end processing operations across multiple facilities.
- Drive operational excellence through productivity improvements, process optimization, safety, and quality systems.
- Ensure productive utilization of assets while maintaining high environmental and operational standards.

Sustainability & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, waste management guidelines, and statutory requirements.




- Promote sustainable operating practices, efficient resource utilization, water conservation, emissions management, and circular economy initiatives.
- Drive ESG performance across operations.

Commercial & Market Development

- Develop and expand markets for recycled construction materials and value-added products.
- Build relationships with infrastructure companies, contractors, developers, government agencies, and industrial customers.
- Identify new product opportunities and enhance commercialization strategies to maximize business growth.

Leadership & Organization Development

- Build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams across operations, commercial, and support functions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Present business performance, strategic initiatives, and growth plans to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

- 15+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, recycling, resource recovery, infrastructure, industrial operations, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale operations with end-to-end business and financial responsibility.
- Experience in developing and scaling industrial businesses, including multi-site operations.
- Strong exposure to working with government agencies, public institutions, regulatory authorities, or infrastructure-related stakeholders.
- Good understanding of industrial processing technologies, operational excellence, environmental compliance, and sustainability practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build markets, manage strategic partnerships, and lead business transformation initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or related discipline).
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Business, Operations, Infrastructure, or General Management will be preferred.
