Job Summary-

We are looking for a skilled VMC Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centre machines for precision machining of components as per engineering drawings, CNC programs, and specified quality standards.

- Key Responsibilities
- Operate VMC machines safely and efficiently as per production requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, machining drawings, and work instructions.
- Set up jobs, fixtures, tools, and workpieces as per the required machining process.
- Load and unload components and ensure correct job orientation and clamping.
- Understand and operate CNC programs and make basic program corrections when required.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, tool length offsets, and wear offsets.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters based on material and operation.
- Carry out drilling, tapping, milling, pocketing, facing, contouring, and other machining operations.
- Check component dimensions using vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Perform in-process inspection and maintain required dimensional accuracy.
- Identify tool wear, machining defects, vibration, dimensional variation, and other production issues.
- Make necessary offset adjustments to maintain component quality.
- Maintain production output as per target and minimize rejection and rework.
- Follow safety procedures, SOPs, quality standards, and 5S practices.




- Maintain machine cleanliness and carry out routine machine checks.
- Report machine breakdowns, tool problems, material issues, and quality deviations to the supervisor.
- Maintain production and inspection records as required.
- Required Skills
- Good knowledge of VMC machine operation and basic CNC machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar is preferred.
- Knowledge of tool offsets, work offsets, tool selection, and cutting parameters.
- Positive knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Basic understanding of GD&T; and machining tolerances is an advantage.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic machining problems.
- Good knowledge of workplace safety and 5S.
- Educational Qualification
- ITI – Machinist / CNC Operator / Turner preferred.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may be an added advantage.
- Experience
- 1–5 years of experience as a VMC Operator in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Fresh ITI candidates with relevant VMC training may also be considered.
- Key Performance Indicators Achievement of daily/monthly production targets.

- Proper tool and material utilization.
- Compliance with safety, quality, and 5S standards.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Ability to handle components, fixtures, and cutting tools.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and in shifts, if required.
