Primary purpose of the role

To provide technical and operational support for day-to-day activities of the Mechanical Testing and Metallurgy Laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely execution of testing, metallographic examination, documentation and reporting as per applicable standards and customer requirements.

Major responsibilities

Sample Testing (Mechanical)

- Conduct various mechanical tests including:
- Tensile Testing
- Hardness Testing
- Impact (Charpy/Izod) & Dimensional Testing
- Pipe sample cutting, mounting, preparation, mirror polishing, Etching Process
- Ultrasonic Testing
- Metallography / Microstructure Analysis
- Optical microscope operation
- Evaluation of grain structure, phases, inclusions, defects and other metallurgical characteristics.
- Metallurgical analysis.
- NDT Testing.

- Ensure 100% testing completion with required accuracy.
- Record and report test results as per lab protocols.
- Knowledge of ASTM / ISO testing standards.
- Basic understanding of ISO/IEC 17025.
- Test report preparation and laboratory documentation.
