A Quality Control (QC) Engineer for aerospace and precision machine components ensures parts meet strict safety, regulatory, and design specifications. This involves conducting physical and digital inspections of raw materials, machined parts, and assemblies, managing non-conformances, and maintaining full component traceability.
Core Responsibilities
- Dimensional & Metrology Inspection: Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of CNC-machined components. Verify tolerances, surface finishes, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) using precision tools like CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), contour tracers, and micrometers. ]Compliance & Traceability: Ensure manufacturing processes rigorously comply with industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
Maintain documentation like material test certificates and quality assurance plans.
- Defect Management: Identify non-conforming products, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives.
- Equipment Calibration: Regularly check and track the calibration status of gauges, measurement tools, and test fixtures before use.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside design, production, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve part manufacturability
