About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Strategy Credit Manager to join our credit team. This role sits at the intersection of credit underwriting, risk strategy, and operational oversight, and will play a key part in shaping the credit framework for our Loan Against Property (LAP) business.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, review, and refine credit and risk policies specific to the LAP portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and manage end-to-end TAT (Turnaround Time) for the credit team, identifying bottlenecks and driving process improvements
- Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts/underwriters, setting explicit performance benchmarks and fostering a high-accountability culture
- Conduct portfolio-level data analysis to identify risk trends, early warning signals, and opportunities for policy calibration
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and product teams to balance credit quality with business growth




- Build and maintain MIS reports and dashboards to track key credit metrics and team performance
- Support the National Credit Manager in strategy formulation, policy rollouts, and senior stakeholder reviews

Requirements

- 6 to 10 years of experience in credit and risk, with a strong focus on LAP underwriting and portfolio management
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing credit teams
- Proficiency in data analysis; advanced Excel skills are a must
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL for querying and interpreting credit data
- Solid understanding of LAP product nuances collateral valuation, LTV, legal & technical due diligence
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable credit strategies
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination and senior reporting

Good to Have

- Exposure to bureau analysis (CIBIL, Equifax, CRIF) and scorecard-based underwriting
- Familiarity with NBFC or HFC lending environments
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) or basic Python for analysis
