About the Education Department

The Education Department at CanKids provides learning support to children undergoing cancer treatment through formal and non-formal education programs. The department focuses on maintaining continuity of education, supporting school reintegration, providing scholarships, and creating meaningful learning experiences through academic, creative, and therapeutic activities.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Principal / Head Teacher to lead educational activities at CanShala, ensuring quality learning, teacher development, curriculum implementation, and overall child-focused educational support.

The role requires strong academic leadership, team management, curriculum planning, and coordination with social support teams to ensure holistic development and well-being of children.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Teaching Supervision

- Supervise classroom activities and ensure quality education delivery.
- Lead curriculum planning and child-centric teaching methodologies.
- Monitor student learning progress through individual tracking systems.
- Develop creative teaching approaches based on children's learning needs.
- Ensure delivery of formal, non-formal, therapeutic education, and scholarship programs.

Teacher Management & Development

- Mentor and support teachers through regular guidance and training.




- Conduct teacher performance reviews and progress meetings.
- Organize capacity-building sessions for teaching staff.

Student Support & Well-being

- Ensure children's safety, care, and well-being throughout their time at CanShala.
- Coordinate with social workers, psychologists, healthcare professionals, and support teams.
- Support school reintegration and learning continuity for children.

Activities & Community Engagement

- Plan extracurricular activities, celebrations, outings, and learning experiences.
- Facilitate parent/caregiver engagement and communication.
- Maintain attendance, progress tracking, and performance documentation.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain student progress reports and teacher performance records.
- Ensure implementation of education policies and organizational processes.
- Track learning outcomes, assessments, and intervention plans.

Required Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Child Development, or related field.

Experience:

- 57 years of experience in teaching and school administration.
- Experience in curriculum development and teacher training.
- Prior experience working with children in difficult circumstances or special education programs preferred.

Required Skills

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Expertise in curriculum design and innovative teaching methods.
- Teacher mentoring and training skills.
- Knowledge of child development and education policies.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage documentation and performance tracking.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms preferred.
