Job Purpose

The Cloud Infra Engineer (Cloud Architect) is responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure that supports business-critical applications and digital transformation initiatives. The role provides technical leadership to the cloud engineering team, oversees cloud operations, and ensures optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The jobholder drives automation, governance, and best practices while collaborating with security, DevOps, network, and application teams to enable seamless cloud adoption and continuous improvement.

Role & responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Availability & Performance

Key Results Expected

- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
- Maintain SLAs for uptime, latency, scalability, and service responsiveness.

Supporting Actions

- Monitor cloud workloads, VM health, storage, network, and services using monitoring tools.
- Implement autoscaling, redundancy, load balancing, and failover strategies.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement optimizations.
- Conduct regular capacity planning and environment health checks.

Cloud Architecture, Deployment & Automation

Key Results Expected

- Deliver secure, scalable, and costefficient cloud architectures.
- Improve deployment efficiency and reduce manual tasks through automation.

Supporting Actions

- Design and deploy cloud solutions using IaC (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).
- Standardize templates, configurations, and provisioning workflows.




- Integrate cloud architecture with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Support application teams in workload migration and modernization.

Cloud Security, Compliance & Governance

- Ensure adherence to cloud security frameworks, IAM controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain auditready posture and reduce vulnerabilities.

- Implement cloud security policies, encryption, identity governance, and rolebased access controls.
- Conduct continuous monitoring with tools (Cloud Security Posture Management, SIEM, Defender, etc.).
- Manage patching, hardening, and compliance reporting across cloud services.
- Lead remediation for security gaps, alerts, and audit findings.

Cloud Cost Optimization & FinOps

- Optimize cloud spending while maintaining performance and business needs.
- Reduce wastage of cloud resources and improve cost visibility.

Supporting Actions

- Implement tagging standards, budgets, alerts, and costtracking dashboards.
- Optimize compute, storage, network, and license usage.
- Identify idle, underutilized, or overprovisioned workloads and take corrective actions.
- Work with finance and service owners to forecast and manage cloud budget.

Incident, Problem & Change Management

- Ensure timely resolution of cloud incidents and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Reduce repeat issues and ensure riskfree execution of cloud changes.

- Lead highseverity cloud incident resolution and coordinate warrooms.
- Conduct RCA for recurring issues and drive permanent fixes.
- Review and implement change requests as per governance standards.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident summaries, and compliance documentation.

Team Leadership, Mentoring & Collaboration

- Build and guide a highperforming cloud engineering team.
- Strengthen cloud capability across DevOps, application, network, and infra teams.
