Key Responsibilities
Academic & Curriculum Leadership
- Curriculum Design: Lead the design, evaluation, and updating of the Physics curriculum to align with educational board standards (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, IB, or university guidelines).
- Instructional Excellence: Promote highly effective teaching methodologies and ensure the integration of practical laboratory experiments into daily lesson plans.
- Assessments: Oversee the setting of examinations, grade moderation, and academic reporting to track student performance and identify areas for improvement.
Staff Management & Mentorship
- Teacher Development:
Mentor and support physics teachers, provide feedback through classroom observations, and coordinate career development opportunities.
- Workload Allocation: Manage department timetables, assign teaching duties, and delegate responsibilities for extracurricular activities like science fairs or olympiads.
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Budget Management: Manage the department budget, procuring necessary lab equipment, software, and textbooks.
- Lab Safety: Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols and regulatory standards regarding equipment and hazardous materials.
- Resource Allocation: Oversee department inventories and ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained in working order.
