Job Summary

The Application QA Test Engineer is responsible for hands-on design, development, and execution of manual and automated test strategies across enterprise application platforms. This role ensures that software releases are thoroughly validated for functionality, performance, and reliability before reaching production. The Application QA Test Engineer works closely with development, product, and delivery teams to identify defects early, drive test automation maturity, and uphold quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test cases for web, mobile, and API-based applications

- Build and maintain reusable automated test scripts and frameworks aligned with CI/CD pipeline integration

- Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices to create readable, living test documentation that engineering and business stakeholders can consume

- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution using ITSM and defect management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, ServiceNow)

- Contribute to test planning, estimation, and sprint ceremonies within Agile delivery teams

- Execute performance, load, and stress testing scenarios to validate application scalability and stability

- Participate in test environment setup, test data preparation, and configuration management activities

- Maintain and evolve test automation coverage; increase automation ratios to reduce manual regression effort

- Generate and distribute test execution reports, dashboards,



and release quality metrics to QA leads and delivery stakeholders

- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve defects efficiently shifting quality left in the development process

- Support UAT execution and client-facing testing activities as required

- Contribute to the maintenance of test SOPs, runbooks, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)

- Participate in on-call or off-hours regression testing windows aligned with release schedules

Required Skills Experience

- 4 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing across enterprise application environments

- Hands-on experience with:

- Test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured)

- BDD libraries (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow)

- API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)

- Performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6)

- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

- Proficiency with defect and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, qTest)

- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum testing practices, including sprint-based planning and continuous testing





- Working knowledge of scripting or programming languages supporting automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)

- Experience testing across multi-tier architectures including frontend, backend, microservices, and database layers

- Familiarity with version control (Git) and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications

- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or higher)

- Experience in managed services or multi-client delivery environments

- Exposure to cloud-native application testing on AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Familiarity with accessibility testing (WCAG 2.1) and security testing fundamentals (OWASP Top 10)

- Experience in ITIL-based service delivery environments
