The Assistant Manager for the Data Conversion team will lead day-to-day data migration, parsing, transformation, and quality assurance processes. This role balances team leadership, workflow optimization, and technical oversight to ensure client projects are delivered accurately, securely, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Operations

- Daily Management: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Data Conversion Specialists, Quality Analysts, and Operators.
- Work Allocation: Assign tasks based on project priorities, skill sets, and bandwidth to optimize team throughput.
- Performance Oversight: Conduct regular performance reviews, set KPIs/SLAs, and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) when necessary.
- Training & Onboarding: Design training modules for new hires on proprietary conversion tools.

2. Project Delivery & Quality Assurance

- SLA Compliance: Ensure projects meet or exceed client Service Level Agreements regarding turn-around time (TAT) and accuracy rates (typically 99%).
- Quality Control: Establish robust QA/QC sampling frameworks to detect structural data errors, encoding issues, or missing fields early in the workflow.
- Issue Escalation: Resolve technical bottlenecks, data discrepancies, or corrupted source files escalated by team members.

3. Technical Oversight & Process Improvement

- Workflow Optimization: Review existing conversion pipelines and identify automation opportunities.




- Tools & Bug Fixing: Collaborate with team leaders and subordinates to identify gaps in the process and look for the possibility of creating CRs for current tools/bug fixing.

4. Qualifications, Technical Competencies & Experience Education & Work Experience

- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Total Experience: 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in data processing and data conversion operations within the Publishing or Digitization sectors.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years in a direct supervisory/team lead capacity, with proven experience managing teams of 10 to 12+ direct reports.

5. Technical & Core Competencies

- Data Structuring & Schemas: Advanced expertise in data structures, including XML, JSON, CSV, and relational database schemas.
- Data Analytics & Reporting: Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate data trends, monitor error distributions, and synthesize performance metrics into clear executive reports.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for technical documentation, cross-departmental collaboration, and executive reporting.
