Job Title CNC Operator Department Production Manufacturing Reports To Production Supervisor Plant Manager Location Chennai- Tondiarpet Employment Type Full-Time Position Overview The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up operating and maintaining computer numerical control CNC machines to produce high-precision components and parts according to technical drawings and specifications The role requires strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and adherence to quality and safety standards Key Responsibilities Machine Operation Production Set up and operate CNC machines lathe milling or turning centers to manufacture components as per design Load raw materials and tooling and perform machine offsets and adjustments when required Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and job orders Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency Inspect finished parts using measuring tools like vernier calipers micrometers height gauges etc Quality Maintenance Ensure all parts meet dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep machines clean and well-lubricated Identify and report any mechanical or operational issues immediately Record production data tool usage and part measurements for traceability Safety Compliance Follow all company safety policies standard operating procedures SOPs and housekeeping standards Wear appropriate PPE Personal Protective Equipment during all operations Handle tools materials and machines safely to avoid accidents and downtime Qualifications Skills Education ITI Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering or equivalent Experience 1-3 years of experience operating CNC machines FANUC Siemens or Haas control systems preferred Knowledge of G-code programming and basic CNC setup procedures Experience in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring instruments Technical Skills Ability to operate CNC milling turning or grinding machines Basic knowledge of CAD CAM systems added advantage Understanding of tooling feeds speeds and machining parameters Soft Skills Good communication and teamwork Robust attention to detail and quality consciousness Willingness to work in shifts if required Proactive problem-solving approach Work Environment Workshop Factory environment with moderate noise and machinery operations Standing and manual handling required throughout the shift Shift timings Specify - e g Rotational General Shift Salary Range 20 000 - 45 000 per month depending on skill level and experience Additional incentives for overtime or production targets if applicable Career Path With experience and skill development CNC Operators can advance to roles such as CNC Programmer Production Supervisor Quality Inspector Maintenance Technician Job Type Full-time Pay 20 000 00 - 45 000 00 per month Benefits Health insurance Paid sick time Paid time off Provident Fund Work Location In person
