About the Role

We are looking for an experienced DPDP Compliance Consultant to lead the end-to-end implementation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023 for a large enterprise. The consultant will establish a comprehensive privacy governance framework, develop compliance processes, create privacy documentation, implement operational workflows, and support ongoing managed privacy services.

This role requires strong expertise in data privacy regulations, governance, information security, risk management, vendor compliance, and enterprise data protection.

Key Responsibilities

Privacy Governance & Strategy

- Assess DPDPA applicability and organizational compliance obligations.
- Establish Privacy Office governance and operating model.
- Define Data Protection Officer (DPO) responsibilities and governance framework.
- Build enterprise-wide Privacy Governance Committee.
- Develop privacy roadmap and implementation strategy.

Privacy Framework Development

- Conduct enterprise-wide data discovery and data mapping.
- Prepare Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Create Data Flow Diagrams for enterprise applications.
- Classify processing activities based on lawful grounds under DPDPA.
- Develop Data Retention and Data Deletion policies.
- Design Consent Management and Notice Management framework.
- Build multilingual privacy notices.
- Develop workflows for consent collection and withdrawal.





Data Principal Rights

Design and implement operational workflows for:

- Right to Access
- Right to Correction
- Right to Erasure
- Grievance Redressal
- Right to Nominate

Privacy Operations

- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop breach management processes.
- Define breach notification procedures.
- Establish privacy registers and audit mechanisms.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements.

Vendor Privacy Governance

- Create third-party privacy governance framework.
- Develop Vendor Privacy Due Diligence process.
- Design vendor privacy questionnaires.
- Draft Data Processing Agreements (DPA).
- Review vendor contracts for DPDPA compliance.
- Establish vendor monitoring and audit process.

Risk & Compliance

- Perform Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA/DPIA).
- Conduct privacy risk assessments.
- Support internal and external privacy audits.
- Develop compliance dashboards and Board-level reporting.
- Maintain audit-ready privacy documentation.

Managed Privacy Services

- Provide ongoing privacy advisory.
- Support DPO activities.
- Monitor privacy operations.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions.
- Liaise with business stakeholders and regulators.
- Maintain privacy platform documentation and compliance metrics.

- Experience with privacy management platforms such as Leegality, OneTrust, BigID, TrustArc, Securiti.ai, or Microsoft Priva
- Legal and regulatory compliance experience will be an added advantage.

Desired Experience

- 5+ years in Information Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Privacy, or Data Protection.
- Hands-on implementation experience with enterprise privacy programs.
- Experience working with large enterprises, PSU organizations, Oil & Gas, Banking, or Government sectors is preferred.
