The System Administrator (Server Administrator) is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. You will install hardware and software, participate in continuously improving and keeping up with the backend servers/systems of applications hosted on State Data Center/Cloud Infrastructure. System Administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the department.

- Configuration of servers, operating systems administration, hardening, load balancers, firewall including management of users, processes, resource contention, preventive maintenance and management of updates patches.
- Re-installation in the event of system crash/failures.
- Periodic health check of the systems, troubleshooting problems, analyzing and implementing rectification measures.
- Implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures for maintenance of the infrastructure.
- Management of usernames, roles and passwords of all relevant subsystems including servers, applications, devices, etc.
- Implementing security on the Internet and Intranet; knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.




- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Install and configure software and hardware; manage network servers and technology tools; set up accounts and workstations.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements; troubleshoot issues and outages; ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
- Upgrade/patching of systems with recent releases and models from time to time.
- Maintain code repository server and access configuration.
- Maintain cloud infrastructure, application and database backup.
- Configure and maintain server scaling and High Availability Disaster Recovery.
- Web/Mobile application release management activities on staging and production servers.
- Application deployment on .Net/Java/PHP based applications on Windows/Linux servers.
