- Accurately code and abstract patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements, and complications.
- Research and analyze data requirements for reimbursement and compliance.
- Review medical records to identify documentation deficiencies and discrepancies.
- Ensure documentation supports diagnoses, procedures, and treatment outcomes.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for reimbursement, research, and compliance with regulatory requirements.




- Audit clinical documentation and coded data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Identify potential quality of care issues and billing discrepancies.
- Follow official coding guidelines, conventions, and client-specific requirements.
- Serve as a coding consultant and subject matter expert for care providers and fellow coders.
- Assist team leads in training, mentoring, and providing feedback to recent coding staff.
- Maintain and update coders quality reports and productivity tracking in Excel.
- Participate in ongoing training and handle special coding projects as assigned.
