Role & responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic products preferable for displays.
- Ensure products meet applicable railway industry standards (e.g., EN 50155, EN 45545, IEC 60571).
- Conduct the planning and execution of type tests including environmental, EMC/EMI, vibration, shock, thermal, electrical safety, and performance testing.
- Managing and coordinating with the vendors for assembly, testing, QC, etc., and also able to travel to vendor places as required.
- Creating the required product development documents and maintaining.
- Continues improvement of process.
- Active participation in product development improvement by giving Feedbacks/ implementing required corrective actions.
- New product implementation assembly, testing and other related works.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for field issues and test failures.
- Support field installation, troubleshooting as required.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, software, production, quality, and supply chain to ensure seamless product development and integration.
- Perform root cause analysis for product failures, quality issues, test failures, or field problems, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives and product optimization through design iteration and supplier feedback.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including IP addressing,
Ethernet, serial communication (RS232/RS485), and basic diagnostics for connected devices.
Preferred candidate profile
- Robust spoken and written English skills for technical discussions, presentations, and customer interactions.
- In-depth knowledge of EN 50155, EN 45545, IEC 60571 guidelines for railway products. (Preferable)
- Good understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, converters, surge protection, and thermal design for railway applications.
- Hands-on experience with environmental, EMC/EMI, shock/vibration, and electrical safety testing for railway products.
- Ability to analyse and reproduce the functionality of existing hardware or systems for improvement or replacement.
- Skilled in diagnosing complex hardware or field issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Ability to prepare and present detailed technical case studies for internal evaluation or client reporting.
- Effective coordination with mechanical, software, QA, and production teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Willingness and ability to travel other cities for work-related purposes such as on-site testing, client visits, vendor places, installation supervision, or certification processes.
- Comfortable working flexible hours and managing multiple deliverables under tight schedules.
