Purpose of the Position:

To ensure R & D Procurement for items as per requirement

Key Result Areas:

- To take multiple quotes & do comparison
- Timely conversion of PR to PO.
- To ensure on time delivery
- To ensure proper documentation
- To ensure timely payment
- To follow the Purchasing SOP.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Identify suppliers for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and bought-out components.
2. Develop sources as per TBM requirement.
3. Conduct supplier technical capability assessments .
4. Understand drawings, specifications, BOMs, and quality requirements.
5. Float RFQs, compare technical and commercial offers, and prepare cost break-ups.
6. Negotiate pricing, tooling cost, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms.
7. Support energetic pricing discussions for commodities (copper, aluminium, steel, etc.).

8. Coordinate with Quality for Sample approvals.

9. Drive corrective actions for supplier quality issues.

10. Monitor market trends for key raw materials (copper, magnets, semiconductors, etc.).

11. Work closely with R&D;, Production, Quality, and Planning teams.

Participate in technical reviews and supplier discussions.

13. Maintain documentation, supplier database, and cost sheets.

14. Prepare MIS reports for management review.

Requirement profile: (Qualification, No of yrs. exp)

- BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- 35 years of experience in sourcing / procurement / supplier development.
- Experience in medical devices, electronics, or capital equipment manufacturing preferred.

Competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes required to perform job):

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, casting, moulding, sheet metal, transformers, PCBs, assemblies.

- Strong negotiation and cost-analysis capability.
- Understanding of Incoterms, contracts, and pricing models.

3. Soft Skills

- Strong communication and coordination skills.
