The Payroll Accounting Supervisor will oversee payroll accounting operations within the General Accounting and Reporting team This role requires robust technical accounting skills people management capability and the ability to drive process improvements while ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting Key Responsibilities Operational Responsibilities Oversee and perform month-end close activities for payroll accounting ensuring completeness accuracy and adherence to timelines Review payroll-related accruals reconciliations and journal entries to ensure integrity and compliance with Agilent s Accounting Finance Manual and SOX controls Conduct financial analysis and review to validate the accuracy of payroll accounting data and identify improvement opportunities Partner with cross-functional teams including HR Business Finance and Global Accounting to resolve issues and enhance end-to-end payroll processes Identify recommend and implement process simplifications or automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy Lead participate in enterprise-wide initiatives and process improvement projects impacting payroll accounting and reporting People Management Supervise coach and develop team members to ensure consistent performance growth and engagement Effectively manage workload distribution performance reviews and development plans for the team Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement within the team Provide regular feedback and mentorship to enhance technical and professional competencies Ensure clear communication of goals priorities and expectations within the team and across stakeholder groups Build strong partnerships with stakeholders keeping management informed of progress risks and key developments Qualifications Graduate in Finance accounting or equivalent master s degree is preferable 6-9 years of experience in general accounting function preferably in payroll accounting Prior year experience of managing supervising a team is preferable Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards Understanding of payroll accounting processes and related controls is preferable Solid analytical problem-solving and process improvement skills Proficient in MS Excel exposure to SAP is preferred Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule Our pay ranges are determined by role level and location Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training During the hiring process a recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for a preferred location Pay and benefit information by country are available at https careers agilent com locations Agilent Technologies Inc is an equal opportunity employer Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin protected veteran status disability or any other protected categories under all applicable laws Travel Required NoShift DayDuration No End DateJob Function Finance
