Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned Senior PowerBuilder Developer to maintain enhance and support our mission-critical financial applications The ideal candidate is a full-stack expert in the PowerBuilder Sybase SQL Server ecosystem capable of managing complex legacy systems while contributing to future modernization initiatives You will be responsible for ensuring the stability performance and integrity of our core applications that underpin key business operations Key Responsibilities Application Maintenance Support Serve as the primary technical owner for legacy applications built in PowerBuilder Troubleshoot debug and resolve production issues in a timely manner Enhancement New Development Design code test and deploy enhancements and new modules for existing PowerBuilder applications based on business requirements Database Development Write optimize and maintain complex stored procedures triggers and functions in Sybase ASE and MS SQL Server T-SQL Experience with Oracle PL SQL is a major plus Performance Tuning Proactively identify and resolve application and database performance bottlenecks System Analysis Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather requirements document business logic and propose effective technical solutions Modernization Integration Assist in projects to integrate legacy applications with modern systems via APIs REST SOAP and participate in data migration and application modernization planning Required Skills Experience Experience 10 years of qualified experience in software development PowerBuilder 7 years of hands-on development with PowerBuilder 12 x or later Deep knowledge of the PowerBuilder Foundation Classes PFC Database Expertise Expert-level proficiency in Sybase ASE and MS SQL Server Strong command of T-SQL and or PL SQL including advanced stored procedure development and performance tuning Data Modeling Strong understanding of relational database design and data modeling principles Problem Solving Exceptional analytical and debugging skills with a proven ability to support complex business-critical systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with Appeon PowerBuilder 2019 2022 and its modernization tools e g C migration REST API generation Development experience with C NET VB NET or other modern web technologies preferred Angular React Experience in the Financial Services or Insurance industry Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science MIS or a related field
