Position Title Industrial Engineer Reports to Director-Product Development Department Product Development Location HARTING India Production Chennai POSITION SUMMARY HARTING Company Introduction- High-performance connection technology forms the basis of industrial application and product technology The HARTING range of products and solutions comprises connectors device connection technology and network components HARTING products connect machines and facilities via data signal and power HARTING employs around 5 000 people across its 44 sales companies and 14 production locations The candidate for this position needs to have proven capabilities for Development of processing in new and relocation connectors cable assembly and harness Maintain and improve serial connectors This position is based in Chennai Tamilnadu India QUALIFICATIONS Education Required Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or B Tech from a reputed institute Positive command of English written and spoken Work Experience Required At least 4-6 years in Engineer position in a Manufacturing Process Engineering Industrial Engineer Manufacturing Engineer Preferred Dealing with electromechanical products preferably cable assemblies and connectors ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS General Responsible to develop the assembly lines for New Product Developments Work closely with R D team on the Design to manufacturing feasibility analysis Review technical manufacturing feasibility Working knowledge on Design For Manufacturing DFM and Poke Yoke Hands on working knowledge on New Product Development NPD of electro-mechanical products and NPI NPD process of development Good knowledge in diecasting plastics sheet metal component development and manufacturing and assembly processes coordinate with suppliers for component development and get the right part Hands on experience in design and development of assembly line equipment s fixtures required for New Product assembly line ability to setup new assembly line Experience to determine production processes develop process flow chart layout chart PFMEA Work instructions create specifications for the equipment estimate manufacturing cost investments required for the project Ability to perform New Product PPAP Determine capacity requirements of production equipment knowledge on Product packaging Having experience in connector design will be added advantage Develop and build prototypes to measure their level of function Knowledge on the Engineering Change Notification process and part setup in SAP Attend daily weekly team meetings to provide progress reports obtain updates on colleagues progress strategize on steps for following week and acquire information about projected emerging product lines Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change Ability to plan schedule coordinate and problem solve effectively Able to work in a team environment with ability to work on your own Self-motivated attitude Meet the organization goals and targets and achieve by executing the plans meticulously Support the Cross Function Team Members in project execution Functional relation with other HARTING departments Cross Functional Team especially R D Production Engineering Purchase On request by the superior manager the employee besides his actual functions can be involved to do other tasks which do not correspond to his routine activities sphere
