Practice Accountant Accounting and Tax

The Role

We are seeking to recruit a qualified accountant to work under the firm’s Senior Managers.

The successful candidates will:

- Prepare and review annual financial statements for audit-exempt companies, sole traders and owner-managed businesses.
- Prepare and review corporation tax and income tax computations and returns.
- Manage client assignments from receipt of information through to completion.
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and progress work.
- Identify accounting, taxation and commercial issues arising during assignments.
- Assist Senior Managers with the management of client portfolios and filing deadlines.
- Supervise and support trainee and part-qualified accountants.
- Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed budgets and deadlines.
- Contribute to improving and standardising the firm’s accounting and tax processes.
- Assist with audit assignments where required.





The roles require individuals who can take ownership of assignments and client queries while working closely with the relevant Senior Manager.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidates will have:

- ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Ideally three to four years’ post-qualification experience in an Irish accountancy practice.
- Strong experience preparing financial statements for audit-exempt companies and sole traders.
- Good knowledge of Irish corporation tax and income tax compliance.
- Experience managing assignments and dealing directly with owner-managed business clients.
- The ability to supervise and support junior staff.
- Strong organisational, communication and client-service skills.
- Solid IT skills, including a high level of competence in Excel, and the ability to use accounting and practice management software effectively.
- A practical, commercially aware and solutions focused approach.

Good audit experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
