Purpose

This position is responsible for supporting and overseeing the day-to-day engineering operations of the property, ensuring operational continuity in the absence of the Chief Engineer. The role ensures compliance with safety protocols, effective maintenance planning, team development, and cost-efficient operations, contributing to a seamless and sustainable guest experience.

KEY ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Interacts with:

- External: Members/ Guests, Vendors, Consultants, Service providers, Authorities
- Internal: Managers, Supervisors, Staff and Contractual Staff

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Driving Operational Excellence

- Lead day-to-day technical operations and act as Chief Engineer in their absence to ensure smooth functionality.
- Plan and implement preventive, routine, and scheduled maintenance across all engineering systems.
- Monitor HLP consumption, analyse variances, and drive energy-saving initiatives.
- Maintain machine rooms and engineering spaces as per company standards, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.

Applied Learning

- Coordinate departmental training sessions on safety, technical operations, and SOP compliance.
- Promote awareness of eco-friendly and sustainable engineering practices among team members.
- Conduct incident reviews and implement corrective/preventive measures as per safety guidelines.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and staff development through mentoring and feedback mechanisms.

People Management

- Supervise engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure task execution and shift compliance.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in recruitment, onboarding, and training of technical personnel.
- Conduct daily briefings, assign duties,



and support performance management processes.
- Encourage professionalism, discipline, and adherence to safety and operational standards.

Business & Financial Acumen

- Monitor departmental expenses and report budget variances with corrective action plans.
- Review and contribute to Capex proposals, maintenance forecasts, and procurement recommendations.
- Ensure documentation of licenses, service records, and equipment audits is complete and accessible.
- Support monthly reporting on operational KPIs, expense analysis, and utility consumption.

Leadership & Executive Presence

- Represent Engineering in cross-functional meetings and briefings during Chief Engineer s absence.
- Address member/guest technical issues professionally and resolve them efficiently.
- Enforce engineering policies and procedures in line with brand and compliance standards.
- Build stakeholder confidence through reliable operations, technical excellence, and collaboration.

Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities

- Lead implementation of HSSE policies and ensure engineering operations follow OH&S; guidelines.
- Conduct and participate in audits, drills, and emergency response training across the department.
- Investigate safety incidents and take action to prevent recurrence, maintaining a hazard-free workplace.
- Ensure Local Management System (LMS) is executed and reviewed regularly for compliance and improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / HIRING PROFILE

QUALIFICATIONS

BE/B-Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

WORK EXPERIENCE

8 10 years of engineering experience in hospitality, real estate, or facility management
