Design & Engineering

1) Design and develop instrumentation and control systems for plant / process operation.

2) Prepare instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, P & IDs, cable schedules and wiring diagrams.

3) Select suitable instruments such as transmitter, sensors, control valves, analysers, PLC, SCADA systems.

4) Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

5) Perform programming, logic modifications, uploading, downloading, and troubleshooting of PLCs and SCADA systems.

6) Analyse control loops and modify software logic to optimize process efficiency and safety.

7) Maintain updated backups of all automation software, logic files, and system configurations.

Installation and commissioning

1) Supervise installation of instruments and control systems.

2) Perform loop checking, calibration, testing and commissioning activities.

3) Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and production teams during project execution.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

1) Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of field instruments.

2) Diagnose faults in PLC, SCADA, control valves, VFDs, transmitters and analysers.

3) Minimise downtime through effective troubleshooting and corrective actions.

Calibration and Documentation

1) Maintain calibration records and instrument history.

2) Ensure instruments are calibrated as per schedule and standards.

3) Prepare SOPs, maintenance reports and technical documentations.

4) Manage, update, and adhere strictly to the Master Instrument Calibration Schedule.

5) Execute and document all instrument calibrations directly through SAP HANA (PM/MM modules).

6) Ensure 100% compliance with internal and external calibration audits.

7) Calibrate, troubleshoot,



and maintain specialized equipment including Weighing Scales, Positive Displacement (PD) Meters, and all types of process transmitters (Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level, etc.).

Electrical & Maintenance Operations

1) Demonstrate robust working knowledge of basic electrical systems (VFDs, motors, switchgears, and control panel wiring) to handle cross-functional faults.

2) Drive daily instrumentation maintenance tasks, minimize breakdown frequencies, and perform root-cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures.

Safety and Compliance

1) Follow safety procedures, permit systems and statutory requirements.

2) Support audits related to ISO, safety, Environment and quality systems.

3) Ensure compliance with hazardous area classifications and electrical safety standards.

4) Maintain and update daily instrumentation work reports, breakdown logs, and shift handovers igitally.

5) Actively participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities, including Kaizen, 5S, and Autonomous Maintenance support.

6) Enforce strict adherence to plant safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out (LOTO), work permit systems, and job safety analyses (JSA).

Technical & Software Skills

1) ERP: Proficient in SAP HANA (specifically Calibration and Maintenance modules).

2) Automation: Hands-on experience with major PLC/SCADA platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi or ABB).

3) Tools: Standard engineering software, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word for reporting), and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, HART).

Continuous Improvement

1) Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation.

2) Support energy-saving and productivity improvement initiatives.

3) Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
