Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Analyst Applications to join India CoE-Integration & Engg CAT IT Division

Purpose of this role would be Design, operate, automate, and optimize enterprise Snowflake data platform services for India GCC - Enterprise Distributed Database Services. The role focuses on secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient database operations using Snowflake ecosystem capabilities, Python automation, ServiceNow integration, and analytics/visualization solutions.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore - Caterpillar PSN

What you will do

- Implement Snowflake security controls including RBAC, data masking policies, MFA, and secure access frameworks.
- Build Python-based automation for Snowflake monitoring, operational workflows, alerting, and ServiceNow incident integration.
- Develop and maintain Snowflake objects including stored procedures, streams, tasks, views, and dynamic tables.
- Design efficient ingestion and transformation pipelines, including patterns that reduce dependency on traditional ETL.
- Tune query performance using agile tables, query acceleration services, workload balancing, query rewriting, and data model optimization.
- Implement resilience through Time Travel, Fail-safe, secure data sharing, backup/recovery support, and disaster recovery participation.
- Create dashboards, utilization analytics, and Streamlit/self-service tools to improve visibility of warehouse performance, query usage, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot platform incidents, validate database changes, support performance/recovery testing, and drive continuous improvement




- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

- Automation: Python scripting, automated metrics collection, operational utilities, ServiceNow alerting/incident workflows.
- Monitoring & cost: resource monitors, warehouse utilization thresholds, usage trend analysis, cost control recommendations.
- Analytics & integration: dashboards, Streamlit, Qlik/ServiceNow integration, synchronization/replication support.
- Problem solving & testing: root-cause analysis, diagnostic tools, data validation, test cases, performance and recovery validation.

Skills
- Core Application Systems : Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.




- Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Application Design, Architecture : Knowledge of application design and architecture principles and practices; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools, and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
- Implementation : Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
- Requirements Analysis : Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- System and Technology Integration : Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
- System Testing : Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
