Job Description: A Shift Incharge in a steel manufacturing company supervises production, personnel, and safety (HSE) during a specific shift to meet production targets. Key responsibilities include monitoring furnace/plant parameters (EAF/CCM), ensuring SOP compliance, troubleshooting operational breakdowns, and leading the team to maintain quality standards. Key Responsibilities and Duties

- Production Management: Responsible for achieving daily production targets (volume/quality) in melting, casting, or raw material handling.
- Process Control: Monitor and adjust furnace parameters (temperature, voltage) to optimize production efficiency and slag chemistry.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce stringent safety regulations and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe workplace.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and allocate tasks to operators, technicians, and workers.
- Maintenance Coordination:



Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of heavy machinery.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed shift reports on production logs, material consumption, and equipment status.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience: Generally requires 5.0 to 10.0+ years of experience in steel plants, DRI units, or heavy industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of furnace technology, process control, and safety protocols.
- Skills: Leadership, troubleshooting, team management, and documentation.
