Job Description Summary

As a Graduate Engineering Trainee (Mechanical), you will join the XGEN Engineering team supporting Install Base Engineering for X-ray tube and X-ray generator products. You will contribute to sustaining engineering, engineering change management, product qualification, testing, validation, and failure analysis while working closely with experienced engineers across manufacturing, quality, and service organizations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in mechanical engineering fundamentals and product lifecycle support within the medical imaging industry.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

- Support engineering activities for X-ray tube and X-ray generator products within Install Base Engineering.

- Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to support sustaining engineering and product lifecycle activities.

- Understand and prepare engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;).

- Support tolerance analysis and mechanical simulation activities.

- Utilize CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, and ANSYS to support engineering activities.

- Assist in Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Supply Change Requests (SCRs), and engineering change implementation through the Engineering Change Control Board (ECCB) process.

- Support Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) structuring, drawing updates,



and design change activities.

- Participate in product qualification, verification, validation, and testing activities.

- Support field data analysis, field failure investigations, and root cause analysis.

- Assist in mechanical part development, mechanical test fixture development, part inspection, and testing.

- Support engineers in developing laboratory test setups, conducting planned experiments, and documenting test results.

- Prepare Design History File (DHF) documentation, engineering reports, and technical records.

- Support documentation required for regulatory and quality compliance requirements.

- Collaborate with Product Champions, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Field Service teams to resolve engineering issues and implement product improvements.

- Prepare technical documentation, reports, presentations, and engineering records using Microsoft Office applications.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- Strong fundamentals in Mechanical Engineering.

- Hands-on understanding of engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;), and tolerance analysis.

- Basic understanding of mechanical simulation concepts.

- Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, and ANSYS.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.





- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

- Demonstrated learning mindset with a genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in core Mechanical Engineering.

- Exposure to mechanical testing, laboratory experiments, and engineering validation through academic projects or internships.

- Understanding of engineering change management and product lifecycle support.

- Interest in sustaining engineering and medical imaging products.

- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
