Description

The Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant is responsible for leading the delivery of Intelligent Infrastructure projects and supporting programmes, ensuring successful outcomes across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client expectations. The role involves project leadership, stakeholder management, commercial oversight, team coordination, and contributing to business growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of Intelligent Infrastructure projects, ensuring agreed scope, programme, cost, quality, and performance objectives are achieved.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, resource forecasts, risk registers, and delivery controls.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a key point of contact for project delivery matters.
- Manage project finances, including forecasting, resource planning, fee management, change control, and contractual compliance.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance requirements, quality standards, and client obligations.
- Maintain effective project reporting, documentation, risk management, and assurance activities.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to project teams, promoting collaboration and high performance.
- Support business growth through client engagement, bid support, work-winning activities, and identification of new opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and the development of project management best practices across the business.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Experience managing complex infrastructure, engineering, digital, or multidisciplinary projects.
- Robust project controls, risk management, governance, and commercial management experience.
- Proven stakeholder and client management skills.
- Ability to lead geographically distributed and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

- Experience in transportation, highways, rail, utilities, or Intelligent Infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and project controls.
- Experience in digital delivery, systems integration, or technology-enabled infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

- Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- PMP, APM PMQ, or equivalent project management qualification preferred.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership desirable.

- Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
