Role Description

The Sous Chef Continental is a full time, on-site role based in Puducherry, responsible for supporting the Head Chef in managing the continental kitchen. The role involves planning and preparing continental dishes, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and presentation, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards. The Sous Chef will assist in menu development, portion control, and inventory management, including ordering and storing ingredients. Daily tasks include coordinating with service staff, monitoring kitchen operations during service, and training team members on recipes, techniques,



and plating standards. The role also involves enforcing cost control measures and contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

- Culinary skills in continental cuisine, including strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation standards.
- - Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices in professional kitchen operations.
- Ability to manage inventory, control food costs, and work within budget and portion guidelines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure during peak service hours.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with chefs, kitchen staff, and service teams.
- Formal culinary training or certification from a recognized institute is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a hotel or restaurant specializing in continental cuisine is an advantage.
