Job Description: Junior Education Counsellor
Department: Admissions & Counselling
Reporting To: Senior Education Counsellor / Counselling Manager
Location: Nehru Place, Current Delhi (On-site)

Job Purpose
The Junior Education Counsellor supports the student admissions lifecycle by managing initial profile evaluations, document verification, and cross-departmental operations. By evaluating applicant eligibility early in the process and managing backend execution, this role ensures higher application conversion rates and frees Senior Counsellors to focus on high-impact candidate engagement and sales closure.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)1. Student Profile & Eligibility Assessment
- Review student academic backgrounds (GPA/percentage, backlog history, field of study) to assess preliminary eligibility for target overseas universities.
- Evaluate standard eligibility parameters including language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo) and standardized test expectations (GRE, GMAT).
- Check entry requirements for back-up and primary program options to advise Senior Counsellors on viable university shortlists.
2. Student Follow-Up & Documentation Management
- Execute structured post-counselling follow-ups to collect required documents (transcripts, mark sheets, SOPs, LORs, passport copies, financial proofs).
- Perform first-level audits on document accuracy, formatting, and completeness prior to submission.
- Maintain complete candidate records and regularly update status tracking fields within the CRM system.

Inter-Departmental Coordination
- Hand over fully verified, eligible candidate files to the Admissions team for application submission.
- Coordinate with the Visa team to monitor application progression and share real-time updates with students.
- Connect admitted candidates with the Mentorship team for pre-departure briefings, visa interviews, and accommodation assistance.
4. Operational Support for Senior Counsellors
- Manage calendar bookings, consultation schedules, and candidate reminder workflows.
- Conduct preliminary research on course structures, tuition fees, application waivers, and intake deadlines.
- Resolve routine, non-sales candidate queries regarding documentation and university prerequisites.
5. CRM Hygiene & Reporting
- Ensure strict compliance with data privacy policies and accuracy across all student entries.
- Generate weekly reports detailing eligibility check outcomes, document collection rates, and application pipeline progress.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Experience: 1–2 years in study abroad counselling, admissions coordination, or client support.
- Domain Knowledge: Soft understanding of entry requirements, grading scales, and eligibility criteria for key study abroad destinations (e.g., US, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia).
- Technical Skills: Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., LeadSquared) and MS Office tools (Excel, Word).
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
