About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in MS SQL, Healthcare Data Modeling & Integration, and Statistics to join our dynamic team at Persistent Systems. In this role, you will be instrumental in building scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure, implementing system health monitoring, and developing continuous integration pipelines. Your expertise will support healthcare analytics initiatives, ensuring accurate data processing, reporting, and insights that drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of US healthcare datasets, data warehousing, and analytics tools, and will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet regulatory and business requirements.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Healthcare Analytics, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience working with US healthcare data, including benefits, claims, and eligibility datasets, is essential. Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large healthcare datasets is required, along with familiarity with modern data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake and MySQL.
Candidates should have experience creating healthcare process and data flow documentation using tools like Microsoft Visio or equivalent. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills are critical, complemented by excellent communication abilities to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include a broad spectrum of healthcare data analysis, modeling, and stakeholder engagement:
- Perform comprehensive analysis and reporting on large-scale US healthcare datasets, including claims, eligibility, provider, utilization, and quality data.
- Write, optimize, and validate complex SQL queries to extract meaningful insights from relational databases.
- Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and transformation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support healthcare data modeling and integration efforts by working with Snowflake, MySQL, and related platforms to develop data marts and analytics layers.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to facilitate reliable data ingestion from source systems such as claims processing, provider systems, and eligibility feeds.
- Contribute to analytics initiatives aimed at value-based care, population health management, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Create detailed process flows, data lineage diagrams, and system architecture visuals using tools like Microsoft Visio or draw.io to document healthcare data workflows.
- Document healthcare business rules, data definitions, metrics logic, and reporting methodologies to ensure standardization and clarity across teams.
- Partner with business stakeholders including Healthcare Operations, Finance, Clinical, Quality,
and Compliance teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Present findings, trends, and strategic recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams in a clear and actionable manner.
