About the department

The Online Reliability Services Software Development team builds customer-facing digital products that improve equipment reliability and performance for cement producers worldwide. As Fuller Technologies expands its in-house software development capabilities, this growing team offers a unique opportunity to influence technology, engineering culture, and future product innovation.

About the Role

As a Backend Developer II, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power our global Online Reliability Services (ORS) platform. You will build cloud-native applications, APIs, and IIoT data services that enable reliable connectivity between industrial equipment, cloud platforms, and digital solutions.

In this role, you will independently deliver high-quality software features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously improve platform performance, scalability, security, and operational reliability.

Your responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

- Build cloud-native applications supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity and data processing.

- Develop reliable machine-to-cloud data integration services.

- Optimize backend performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability.

- Design and implement database structures and data processing workflows.

- Participate in software architecture discussions and technical design reviews.





- Contribute to CI/CD automation, monitoring, and production support activities.

- Investigate and resolve production issues using structured root cause analysis.

- Apply secure development practices throughout the SDLC, including IEC 62443 cybersecurity principles.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver integrated solutions.

- Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.

- Support continuous improvement of development standards, tooling, and engineering practices..

You bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

- 4+ years of experience in backend software development, building and supporting scalable production applications.

- Strong programming experience with Java, Python, C#, Node.js, or comparable backend technologies.

- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, distributed applications, and microservices-based architectures.

- Robust understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and backend data-management principles.

- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.

- Familiarity with containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and modern DevOps practices.

- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.

- Working knowledge of secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles; exposure to industrial or IIoT cybersecurity is an advantage.





- Strong systems thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve application and platform issues.

- Ability to translate technical requirements into reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and other technical teams.

- Experience working in global and cross-functional environments is an advantage.

- A quality-focused and continuous-improvement mindset with strong ownership and accountability.

- Fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
