We are hiring a Legal Counsel for a leading global commodity trading organisation. While
the company operates across multiple international markets, the selected candidate will be based in Mumbai and will play a key role in supporting the company's legal function in India.This is an excellent opportunity for experienced litigation lawyers to work on high-value commercial disputes, regulatory matters, cross-border legal issues, and strategic legal advisory while working closely with the Head – Legal.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the company's litigation portfolio across commercial, civil, regulatory, criminal, and arbitration matters.
- Coordinate with external counsel and oversee litigation strategy, filings, hearings, and dispute resolution.
- Advise internal stakeholders on litigation risks and regulatory matters.
- Handle legal notices, settlement discussions, and pre-litigation advisory.
- Review pleadings, legal documentation, and regulatory communications.
- Support the business on commercial contracts and transactional documentation, wherever required.
- Work closely with business, compliance, finance, and other internal stakeholders to mitigate legal risks.

Candidate Profile
- LL.B. from a recognised university.
- 8–10 years of post-qualification experience with a strong litigation background.
- Experience in commercial litigation, arbitration, or regulatory disputes.




- Exposure to drafting, reviewing, or negotiating commercial contracts will be an added advantage.
- Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage complex legal matters in a fast-paced business workplace.

Preferred Exposure
- Commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
- Arbitration and regulatory proceedings.
- Drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.
- Exposure to matters involving commodity trading, energy, shipping, logistics, trade finance, or cross-border commercial transactions will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidates Candidates currently working with, or having prior experience in, commodity trading companies will be given strong preference.
