About the Role
The Lead Engineer – Separator Product Line provides global technical leadership and engineering expertise for the company’s separator product portfolio. Serving as the primary technical authority, this role owns the technical integrity and long-term development of separator products, supporting both current and legacy designs (including ROKSH, RARM, RAR-L, O-SEPA, and SEPAX).
The Lead Engineer is responsible for driving technical strategy across proposals, customer orders, aftermarket operations, product improvement initiatives, and long-term product road mapping. Key focus areas include product standardization, modularization, cost-reduction initiatives, innovation, and new aftermarket offerings. Operating in a cross-functional and global environment, this role collaborates closely with Sales, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Field Service, and external customers to deliver reliable, high-performance, and cost-effective separator solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Global Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical authority for the Separator product line, establishing engineering standards and supporting current and legacy equipment designs.
- Product Roadmap & Lifecycle Management: Own and execute the technical product roadmap,
leading initiatives focused on product innovation, design modifications, modularization, standardization, and cost-efficiency.
- Proposal & Commercial Support: Partner with Sales, Proposal Management, and Commercial teams to review customer specifications, perform equipment selections, write technical proposals, and deliver cost-effective engineering solutions that support revenue objectives.
- Engineering Execution & Quality: Lead technical execution across capital projects and engineered-to-order (ETO) applications, approving major design changes, validating calculations, and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet quality and safety standards.
- Aftermarket & Field Support: Support aftermarket growth by developing technical solutions for separator retrofits, capacity upgrades, equipment replacements, and performance optimizations.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Perform root-cause analysis and equipment evaluations to troubleshoot complex performance issues on active job sites and provide effective corrective action plans.
- Cross-Functional & Mentorship Leadership: Collaborate with global teams across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Support while providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff.
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in mechanical design, industrial machinery, or process equipment.
- Design Capabilities: Demonstrated strength in core mechanical design principles, mechanical drawings, performance calculations, and technical documentation.
- Project Exposure: Proven experience supporting capital projects, engineered-to-order (ETO) equipment, or heavy aftermarket solutions.
- Language: Qualified working proficiency/fluency in English (spoken and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience:
direct experience with cement manufacturing equipment, particle separation technology, air classifiers, and grinding circuits (e.g., ball mills, vertical roller mills).
- Global Exposure: Track record of working effectively within global, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Additional Languages: Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Key Technical & Leadership Competencies
- Domain Expertise: Advanced understanding of particle separation dynamics, heavy machinery design, structural mechanics, fluid flow, and wear-resistant design principles.
- Complex Problem Solving: Ability to apply analytical reasoning and root-cause analysis (RCA) to troubleshoot complex mechanical and operational equipment issues.
- Commercial Orientation: Strong capability to balance high-level technical integrity with cost considerations and customer performance expectations.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, global teams, and external clients.
