We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our Global Capability Center in Mumbai. The role will be responsible for revenue recognition, managing fixed assets, accounting entries, intercompany transactions, and general ledger integrity. It helps in smooth month-end close cycles through precise reconciliations and process adherence. The role ensures accurate recording of transactions, compliance with accounting standards, and timely completion of key operational processes. The role will work closely with Finance team based out of US.
Essential Duties
• Perform accounting related to fixed assets including
o Acquisition
o Capitalization
o Disposals/ transfers
o Depreciation
o Impairment
• Perform revenue recognition processes for multiple business segments in line with policies and accounting standards
• Handle GL Accounting activities including:
o Prepaid accounting & reconciliation
o Provisions and accruals
o Cost allocations
o Investment & donation accounting
o Special Award Accounting
• Process intercompany accounting including loans, dividends, and cross-charge settlements.
• Reconcile bank balances and resolve outstanding items
• Prepare monthly intercompany collection reports and support month-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly GL, bank, inventory reconciliations and record adjustment entries to ensure accurate period close
• Prepare and post adjustment and correction of journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely resolution of open items.
• Support month-end close activities and assist in variance explanations to Finance leads.
• Maintain documentation, audit trails, and compliance with internal controls.
Competencies
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and overall R2R processes.
• Strong understanding of accounting and reconciliation processes and applicable regulatory framework.
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail in handling large financial data sets and financial systems.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar) and Excel or related financial reporting tools, with experience managing extensive data.
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards, statutory and regulatory compliance preferred
• Effective communication, strong organization, documentation, and time-management skills
• Ability to problem - solve, work under deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• Professional certifications like Chartered Accountant preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance operation including R2R process
• Strong knowledge of R2R process, accounting standards, journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar or related) and proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas).
• Ability to lead a team, manage workloads, and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Ability to learn and adapt to organizational processes quickly
