Job Summary

The Manager – Production Planning & Control (PPC) will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, scheduling, material planning, and production execution for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing. The role ensures timely availability of materials, optimum production capacity utilization, inventory control, and on-time delivery while coordinating closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Projects, Stores, Procurement, and Quality teams.

The ideal candidate should have experience in high-volume manufacturing environments such as BESS, EV Battery, Automotive, Electronics, or Industrial Equipment manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning

- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer demand and project schedules.
- Prepare Master Production Schedule (MPS) and production loading plans.
- Plan manufacturing activities for:
- Battery Module Assembly
- Battery Pack Assembly
- HV/LV Pack Assembly
- Rack Assembly
- BESS Container Integration

- Optimize production sequencing to maximize capacity utilization and minimize downtime.

2. Production Control
- Monitor production progress against plan and take corrective actions to meet delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Stores to resolve production bottlenecks.
- Track Work-in-Progress (WIP) and ensure smooth production flow.
- Monitor production KPIs such as plan adherence, schedule attainment, throughput, and OEE.

3. Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Plan material requirements based on BOM and production schedules.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of raw materials and bought-out components.
- Monitor inventory levels, slow-moving inventory, and shortages.
- Optimize inventory while avoiding production interruptions.




- Coordinate with Stores for material issuance and inventory accuracy.

4. SAP & ERP Management
- Utilize SAP PP/MM modules for production planning, order management, and material planning.
- Create and monitor production orders in SAP.
- Ensure accurate BOM, routing, and master data maintenance.
- Generate MIS reports and planning dashboards using SAP and Excel.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Liaise with Sales, Projects, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics to ensure seamless execution.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by planning pilot and production schedules.
- Coordinate dispatch planning to ensure on-time customer deliveries.

6. Continuous Improvement
- Improve production planning accuracy and scheduling efficiency.
- Reduce inventory carrying costs and material shortages.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives related to planning and inventory.
- Analyze capacity constraints and recommend improvements.

- Hands-on experience with SAP PP/MM (mandatory); exposure to SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, dashboards).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and production planning metrics.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain is preferred.

Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Production Planning & Control.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- EV Battery Manufacturing
- Automotive
- Electronics Manufacturing
- Industrial Equipment
