Job Description Position: Sr. Manager – Human Resources (Steel Manufacturing Industry)
/n Location: Kolkata
/n Experience: 12–15 Years
/n Prior experience in the steel manufacturing industry is mandatory.
/n About the Role:
/n We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR leader to head the Human Resources function. The role is responsible for developing and driving enterprise-wide HR strategies, policies, and people initiatives across multiple manufacturing plants.
/n The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the manufacturing sector. Prior experience in handling multiple locations will be preferred.
/n Key Responsibilities: /n HR Strategy & Business Partnership
/n /n Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and long-term growth plans.
/n Lead HR initiatives that enhance productivity, employee engagement, organizational capability, and culture.
/n Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on all people-related matters.
/n /n HR Policy Development & Governance
/n /n Design, review, and implement HR policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks across all manufacturing units.
/n Standardize HR processes and ensure consistent implementation across locations.
/n Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory regulations, and organizational policies.
/n /n HR Governance & Plant HR Oversight
/n /n Provide strategic direction and functional leadership to Plant HR Managers across all manufacturing locations.
/n Establish HR standards, monitor policy implementation, and ensure consistency in HR practices across plants.
/n Review workforce metrics, employee engagement, and HR performance across locations and drive corrective actions where required.
/n Collaborate with Plant HR teams to address workforce challenges while maintaining alignment with corporate HR strategy.
/n /n Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
/n /n Lead the organization's recruitment strategy for corporate and plant-level hiring requirements.
/n Partner with business and Plant HR teams to identify manpower needs and ensure timely hiring of critical talent.
/n Develop talent pipelines and strengthen employer branding initiatives.
/n /n Workforce & Employee Relations
/n /n Guide Plant HR teams in maintaining positive employee relations and resolving workforce issues.
/n Provide strategic oversight on disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and industrial relations.
/n Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives across the organization.
/n /n Talent Management & Performance
/n /n Lead performance management, competency development, and leadership development initiatives.
/n Identify organizational capability gaps and implement learning and development programs.
/n Build succession plans for key positions and strengthen the leadership pipeline.
/n /n Compensation, Benefits & HR Analytics
/n /n Provide strategic inputs on compensation structures, perks, rewards, and recognition programs.
/n Monitor HR metrics and workforce analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
/n Present HR dashboards and insights to senior leadership for business planning.
/n /n Desired Candidate Profile: /n /n 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, with significant exposure to the manufacturing industry.
/n Prior experience in steel manufacturing industry is mandatory.
/n Strong expertise in HR strategy, policy formulation, organizational development, and workforce planning.
/n Strong understanding of labour laws, statutory compliance, industrial relations, and HR governance.
/n Ability to drive change, influence senior leadership, and build scalable HR practices.
/n /n Preferred Qualifications: /n /n MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
