Job Purpose

To ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations of the entire rail dispatch facilities for POL and Pet Coke at the Vadinar terminal. The role is responsible for maintaining infrastructure, coordinating with Indian Railways and internal stakeholders, managing contracts, and ensuring timely dispatches aligned with business plans.

Responsibilities

1. Operation of Rail Loading Facilities for POL and Pet Coke

- Ensuring adherence to SOPs and Railway Guidelines.
- Ensuring adherence to Industry Guidelines for Quality Assurance.
- Ensure healthiness of installed infrastructure for required uptime to avoid loss of business and detention of rakes.
- Development of required skill-sets among officers as well as contractors.

2. Maintenance of Railway Siding





- Ensure healthiness of entire siding for safe running of Railway rakes.
- Ensure inspection and testing of installed Railway siding infrastructures as per Indian Railway’s guidelines.
- Ensure availability of required Railway spares and consumables to maintain entire length of the siding.
- Coordination with Railway officials of the area/division for maintenance support and inspection.

3. Handling Customer Complaints

- Handle customer concerns through timely addressal.
- Take corrective actions to resolve customer concerns.

4. Coordination

- Coordination with PSUs for timely placement of POL indents as per plan.
- Coordination with HO/Zone for planning and movement of POL STO rakes.
- Coordination with direct sales team/customers for Pet Coke loading.
- Raise related issues at HO for resolution and adherence to plan/adjustments.
- Handle issues like demurrages, detention, waiver etc. with Railways.

5. Payment of Railway Freight and Other Charges

- Assess freight requirements and communicate to finance for fund availability.
- Ensure timely payment of freight and other charges.

6. Contract Management

- Handle various product handling and maintenance contracts.
- Ensure adherence to contract terms and timely release of payments.

7. Inculcate Safety Culture

- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines by own team and third parties.
- Conduct safety meetings.

8. Compliance

- Ensure adherence to statutory compliances and organizational guidelines.

9. Strategic Networking

- Maintain strategic relationships with Railways, PSUs, Vendors, Maintenance Departments etc. for timely support.

10. Development of Team

- Assess training needs and nominate team members for training.
- Develop skills through job rotation and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

- Degree in Engineering or Science Graduates/Diploma Holders, preferably with Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain/Operations Management.
