- Employees part of this function are responsible for building and operating IT hardware and software resources in on-prem, cloud or hybrid scenarios in support of internal customer needs.
- They are responsible for a wide variety of activities that operationalize cross functional teams such as capacity planning and resource optimization solutions for one-off and long-term workloads, planning, configuring and maintaining servers (including mainframes), creating virtualized environments, providing analytics services, installing and maintaining specialized tools, etc
Key Responsibilities:
- Involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of enterprise servers, including specialty mainframe systems like IBM/LPARS, high performance super computing systems, and general-purpose hybrid and cloud systems, for optimal end-user business operations.
- Research, design, implement and maintain complex infrastructure solutions for internal customer needs such as specialty software, data warehouses, identity access management, event frameworks, containerization and on demand scaling, etc.
- Design and configure secure virtualized environments aligned with enterprise architecture blueprints consisting of virtual machines, virtual networks,
high speed and distributed storage systems (SAN, HDFS, SSD, etc.)
- Utilize existing tools or assist in engineering custom monitoring solutions to ensure systems are configured correctly, run efficiently and remain secure against potential threats.
- Monitor and review resources like CPU, memory, storage, and network traffic to ensure effective utilization aligned with expected parameters and to safeguard against runaway costs. Resolve bottlenecks and plan for future capacity needs based on resource usage trends. Advise enterprise architecture teams on usage trends to incorporate into future blueprints.
Skills Required:
- Developing Automation Scripts, Kubernetes, OCP, Terraform, Ansible, automation , python, Go Lang, good dev experience, developer mindset

- Python
Experience Required:
- Engineer III Exp: Prac. In 2 coding lang. or adv. Prac. in 1 lang.
- 6+ years in IT; 4+ years in development

- What You'll Do (The Engineering Impact)
- Engineer and architect our OCP solutions: You will design and support on-premise OCP platform, running a combination of containers and OSV, virtual machines as we march towards a private cloud implementation.
- Architect the Private Cloud:
Treat our private cloud platform as a software product. You will develop and support custom Kubernetes/OpenShift operators, APIs, and developer tooling to enable seamless, self-service cloud capabilities for application teams.
- Write Advanced Automation & IaC: Write clean, testable, and robust automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Go, Python, and Ansible to drive our private cloud transformation and eliminate manual toil.
- Software-Driven SRE: Bring a software engineering mindset to private cloud reliability. Build and integrate advanced observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, custom K8s operators) and write software to automate recovery, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery.
- Integrate AI/ML Capabilities: Write code and data pipelines that integrate advanced AI/ML platforms (like Vertex AI) directly into our private cloud infrastructure and automation workflows.
- Mentor & Champion Coding Standards: Lead by example in software craftsmanship. Mentor junior and senior developers across Polyrepo/Monorepo setups, container-native design patterns, and modern GitOps workflows.
- Your Engineering Toolkit To excel in this role, you should have 6 to 10 years of experience in OCP engineering, development, SRE, and DevSecOps, with a strong focus on the following:
- Private Cloud & Container Architecture: o Deep expertise in Kubernetes/OpenShift internals, including Operators (OLM), MachineConfig, Multus CNI, Trident, CePH and OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF). o Experience utilizing OpenShift Virtualization to run diverse workloads.
