JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SENIOR CHEMIST CHEMICAL LAB

• Overall coordination for chemical lab activities

• Ensuring Inspection, Sampling and Testing of raw materials

• Ensuring Testing of Hot metal samples

• Testing of Radiation Contamination in steel samples

• Maintenance of Equipment’s in the laboratory

• Calibration of equipment in the laboratory

• Ensuring Oxygen and Nitrogen analysis

• Maintenance of Gas Analyzers

• Maintenance of Spectrometer. Looking after drift correction of Spectrometer

• Ensuring Incoming Raw material , Gathering CRI, CSR, Sulphur, Phosphorous test

results ( Iron ore, LAM Coke, PCI Coal & Coke Fines ) chemistry entry in SAP.

Making UD of all incoming Raw materials.

• Mines Sampling & Inspection of Incoming Raw Material

• Collecting all information wrt Iron ore samples offered in E-Auction by MSTC

• Coordination with samplers and logistic related persons for Iron ore samples

collection offered in E-Auction by MSTC from various mines





• Maintenance of all crushing equipment's in Physical Lab.

• Witnessing of all physical testing of all raw materials carried out by Neutral assayer in

Physical lab., IMD RM Yard, Bin Bunkar

• Witnessing of sample preparation, Size Analysis and Tumbler index of Iron ore

samples collected from various mines offered in E-Auction by MSTC

• - Making arrangements for collection and testing of secondary Biproducts and

sending test reports for all concerned . Daily Lab Chemists and Lab Helpers

manpower arrangement

• Housekeeping and safety in chemical lab.

• Identification of workplace aspects, impacts, safety observation, follow up for

closure of safety points, Hazard identifications, Risk assessment, ensuring

compliance of OCP.

• Ensure implementation of QMS /NABL Accreditation ISO/IEC 17025 EMS / OHSAS &

TPM

• To Prepare the incoming Raw Material Deviation report and informing the same to

HOD
