Position Summary:

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer III to build and evolve the core dataplane and controlplane capabilities of BIGIP TMOS and BIGIP Next for Kubernetes(BNK) Firewall platforms. This role is for an experienced systems engineer who thrives in highscale, highperformance networking and security software, and who can take features from architecture to production with a strong sense of ownership.

In this role, you will work on missioncritical firewall, traffic management, and L4L7 networking components, contributing to both classic TMOS and cloudnative BIGIP Next (Kubernetesbased) architectures.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and test suites for Firewall and IPS features in a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based setting
Define and implement test strategies, test plans, and test cases for Firewall/IPS functionality including functional, regression, performance, and security testing
Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines ensuring continuous quality validation
Investigate, reproduce, and root-cause reported issues related to Firewall and IPS components




Set up and maintain complex test environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and network simulation tools
Mentor junior test engineers and drive testing best practices across the team
Collaborate with development engineers to improve testability and quality of Firewall/IPS features
Recommend and maintain test methodologies, processes, and standards

Required Skills:
Strong coding skills in Python or Go for test automation
Background in networking technologies protocols.
Experience with Linux, network security tools, and packet analysis
Good understanding of Firewalls, and Intrusion Prevention/Detection System (IPS/IDS)
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and software networking
Robust experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (pytest, GitLab CI, or similar)
Experience with traffic generation and network testing tools
Able to collaborate and thrive in a quick-paced, high-performance setting
8+ years of software test engineering experience in networking or security domain
