About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance distributed systems. The role involves working with up-to-date backend technologies including Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL to build resilient, scalable, and real-time data-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka
Develop and optimize data models across: Cassandra (high-throughput, distributed workloads); PostgreSQL (transactional systems)
Implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Ensure system performance, reliability, and scalability in production environments
Work on data consistency strategies across distributed systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, and Frontend engineers
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design decisions
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code (unit/integration testing)

Required Skills Qualifications
Solid experience in Java and Spring Boot




Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams, event design)
Experience working with: Cassandra or other NoSQL distributed databases; PostgreSQL or relational databases
Solid understanding of: Microservices architecture; Distributed systems concepts; Event-driven systems
Experience in designing RESTful APIs
Knowledge of data modeling for both RDBMS and NoSQL
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and deployment pipelines
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Positive to Have
Experience in payment systems, UPI, or financial services is highly preferred.
Knowledge of message-driven patterns (event sourcing, CQRS)
Experience in high-throughput, low-latency systems (like payments/UPI domain)
Exposure to monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Understanding of security best practices
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
