About the Company
Onwords Automation Private Limited is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented 2D Draftsman to join our engineering/design team in Coimbatore.
Job Summary
We are seeking a 2D Draftsman to prepare accurate technical drawings and layouts based on specifications provided by engineers and designers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 2D CAD software and a strong understanding of engineering drawing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed 2D drawings, layouts, and diagrams using AutoCAD or similar software
Convert design concepts and sketches into precise technical drawings
Prepare and update drawings for mechanical/electrical/civil components as required
Ensure drawings comply with company standards, codes, and specifications
Coordinate with design engineers to understand project requirements
Make revisions to drawings based on feedback and design changes
Maintain proper documentation and version control of all drawings
Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) where required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field)
Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD tools is a plus
Good understanding of engineering drawing principles, dimensioning, and tolerances
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Basic knowledge of manufacturing/automation processes preferred
Solid attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and teamwork skills
Experience
0–3 years of experience in 2D drafting (Freshers with robust CAD skills may also apply)
