Material Testing & Evaluation
Run destructive mechanical tests (tensile, compression, shear, bend) on Universal Testing Machines (UTM).
Measure physical properties using Rockwell, Brinell, and Micro-Vickers hardness profiling.
Conduct impact testing (Charpy/Izod) to determine material toughness under sudden stress.

Metallurgical Analysis
Prepare metallographic specimens via accurate sectioning, mounting, grinding, and chemical etching.
Evaluate grain size, phase distribution, inclusions, decarburization, and weld penetration using optical microscopes.
Investigate component field failures to identify root causes like fatigue, hydrogen embrittlement, or improper heat treatment.

Chemical & Corrosion Assessment
Verify elemental alloy composition using Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) or wet chemical analysis.




Set up and monitor environmental test simulations, including salt spray and intergranular corrosion (IGC) tests.
Safely manage laboratory chemical storage, reagent preparation, and waste disposal protocols.

Compliance & Reporting
Author and sign off on technical test reports, maintaining absolute data traceability.
Ensure all test methods rigorously align with international regulatory frameworks (ASTM, ISO, ASME).
Assist during external quality audits, keeping lab equipment calibrated and compliant.
