Role & responsibilities :
1. Design and manage Phase I to III clinical trials, focusing on first-in-human cancer studies and dose-escalation strategies.
2. Analyze how cancer drugs move through the body (PK) and affect the target tumor (PD) to find the right balance between safety and efficacy.
3. Use computer modeling and exposure-response analysis to determine the optimal dose and treatment schedule for cancer patients.
4. Partner with translational medicine teams to track biomarkers and confirm that the drug is successfully hitting its cancer target.
5. Evaluate drug-drug interactions (DDIs) and manage safety risks when combining different cancer therapies.
6. Assess drug mixing, reconstitution, and stability to ensure cancer treatments are physically and chemically compatible when mixed for IV infusion.
7. Write and review the clinical pharmacology parts of regulatory documents, such as IND, NDA, and BLA submissions.
8. Study how factors like liver or kidney damage, age, and genetics change how oncology drugs work in different patient groups.
9. Require an advanced degree ( Pharm.D., or M.D.) in pharmacology or a related science, along with industry experience in oncology drug development.
