Role & responsibilities
Plant Operations: Manage daily milling, boiling, and crystallization operations to minimize time loss (typically keeping losses below 1.8%) and maximize extraction rates. [1]
Maintenance Management: Oversee Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and rapid breakdown management for critical assets like shredders, boilers, turbines, and centrifuges. [1]
Energy Management: Monitor steam generation, bagasse consumption, and co-generation (power export to the grid) to ensure peak efficiency and energy savings. [1, 2]
Project Execution: Lead plant capacity expansions, equipment modernization, and the installation of current milling or distillery machinery. [1]
Safety & Compliance:



Enforce Engineering Safety Standards and ensure effluent treatment processes adhere to environmental regulations

Preferred candidate profile
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Licensing: A Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) certification is often mandatory for managing the steam generation side of the plant.
Experience: Typically requires 4 to 8+ years of progressive experience in the cane sugar industry, frequently involving large-scale operations ranging from 4,000 Tons Crushed per Day (TCD).
Key Skills: Expertise in sugar plant machinery, project management, budget control, and team leadership
