Position Objective and Overview of Role:

To manage and optimize the procurement of raw materials, engineering items, chemicals, consumables, and services required for effective plant operations. The role demands robust vendor management, cost control, and timely sourcing aligned with production needs while ensuring compliance with company and statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with plant requirements and business goals.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for materials such as molasses, chemicals, mechanical parts, and utility equipment.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure optimal cost and quality.
Ensure timely procurement to avoid any disruption in plant operations.
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality,



and Stores teams to understand and forecast procurement needs.
Maintain proper documentation, PO tracking, and ERP( D365) entries for all purchases.
Monitor vendor performance and build long-term supplier relationships.
Ensure compliance with internal control processes, company policies, and statutory regulations.
Drive cost reduction initiatives and local sourcing strategies wherever feasible.
Manage inventory levels in coordination with store/warehouse and avoid excess or obsolete stock.
Resolve procurement-related issues such as material rejection, delivery delays, and billing mismatches.
