Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the prospect to support regional/global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of Category Manager or independently if under a defined threshold. Each day, you will purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring the purchase activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for High Power division based in Vadodara, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:
Supporting the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the category leader.
Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renewing price lists and terms and conditions. Should have experience in direct procurement.
Running benchmark studies for the Category team and for specific sourcing initiatives.
Creating local contract amendments to frame agreements on behalf of a country and updates/maintains frame contracts.

Qualifications for the role




5 to 8 years of experience in direct procurement preferably from motor/generator background.
Full time Electrical or Mechanical engineering. Experience in Should costing is preferred.
Onboards current suppliers in close collaboration with the respective local buyer, runs regular supplier evaluations, and provides supplier reports to Businesses and Category Managers.
Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.
Manages relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.
