Job Summary

The Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned science lessons for students in Grades 8–10. The role focuses on fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and practical laboratory skills while creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning setting that promotes academic excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver effective science lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
Teach science concepts through theoretical instruction, practical experiments, demonstrations, and project-based learning.
Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and laboratory activities.
Assess, evaluate, and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students achieve learning objectives.
Maintain a safe and well-organized science laboratory, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
Encourage scientific inquiry, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.




Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, inclusive learning setting.
Identify and support students with diverse learning needs.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic performance.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, career development programs, and school events.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, grades, and student performance.
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Organize or support science fairs, exhibitions, clubs, field trips, and other co-curricular activities.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred or required, depending on school policy).
Valid teaching license/certification where required by applicable regulations.

Experience
Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching experience in Science at the middle or secondary school level (preferred).
Experience teaching students in Grades 8–10 is an advantage.
