Responsible to inspect and verify the fit-up of structural fabrication components as per Fabrication drawing, Work Instructions and standards, and prepare inspection report in respective Formats.
Carry out fit-up inspection of structural members as per fabrication drawings, Work Instructions and QAP requirements.
Verify dimensions, alignment, orientation, edge preparation, root gap, hole locations, and Excel before welding.
Ensure correct material identification and member traceability.
Prepare and maintain fit-up inspection reports in Register/Excel/SAP.
Identify the fit-up non-conformities/issues.
Coordinate with production, welding, and QA/QC teams to resolve fit-up issues and minimize rework.
Provide guidance and on-the-job training to fitters to improve fit-up quality and fabrication practices
Preferred candidate profile
Knowledge of Fabrication Drawing
Knowledge of measuring instruments and its limitations
Knowledge of material traceability system
Knowledge of Joint preparations for Welding
Knowledge of Raw material and Fabrication tolerances and its standards ( AWS D1.1, MBMA, IS 7215, IS 2062, ASTM A572, etc.)
Knowledge to understand the QAP requirements
